What it is
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring tripeptide (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine) bound to a copper ion. Levels in the body decline with age. It's studied for its role in the skin's repair and remodeling processes.
What research explores
Published research — including topical human studies — describes GHK-Cu stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis, modulating the enzymes (MMPs) that break down damaged collagen, and influencing a wide range of gene-expression pathways tied to tissue repair. It's one of the more extensively documented peptides for topical skin use.
